Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper
The Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL) professional certification provides landscape professionals with over 20 hours of education on local water supply, sustainable landscaping, soils, landscape water budgets, irrigation system components and maintenance, irrigation system audits, and scheduling and controller programming. In order to obtain the QWEL certification, an individual must demonstrate their ability to perform an irrigation system audit as well as pass the QWEL exam.
March 2nd, 3rd, 9th: 8.30am – 4.30pm

Commercial Restaurant Water Auditor Certification Course
This class covers the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to do a professional water audit of a restaurant. It is avalable as both an online class and an in-person 2-day class (once COVID restrictions allow) , made up of instructor-led classroom studies and restaurant field-work. It culminates in a written exam and a restaurant walk-through. Upon successful completion of the written exam and submission of a complete water audit, the student will be certified to work in the City of Santa Fe's Restaurant Water Audit program. https://www.santafenm.gov/water_conservation

The EnergySmart Academy has been part of the successful team that developed the Water Efficiency Rating Score (WERS) and was awarded a Sustainable Santa Fe Commission award in 2015. The WERS tool is the first of it's kind performance-based water use assessment tool. It currently qualifies for the New Mexico Sustainable Tax Credit submission. This tool provides a full analysis of onsite water use for homes and multi-tenants buildings. SFCC currently is the only institution accredited in the nation to offer this training for certified verifiers, interested water professionals and authorized trainers. WERS Training
This three day, in-person course is a Verifier course to prepare the student to take the WERS certification written and practical exams. The course covers many aspects of water efficiency in housing; however, it is expected that the student have prior knowledge about landscaping & irrigation, basics of house construction & plumbing systems, building codes, and alternative water sources which will not be covered in this class but may be in the exam material. All information not taught in the class can be found through ARCSA, the EPA, the Florida WaterStar program and the Irrigation Association. The WERS Consultant is a professional designation that gives numerous disciplines a strong understanding of the WERS Program. Open to architects and designers, builders and developers, water professionals and decision makers, this 2-day course is ideal for those who will be working on WERS projects in any capacity. Day 1 runs concurrent with the WERS Verifier course. The first half of Day 2 is also concurrent, but when the WERS Verifier students depart for field training, the written exam is administered to the Consultant students.
Price: $495 includes the written WERS exam
